Rapport Falmouth Jazz Workshop

Rapport Falmouth Jazz Workshop is a five day course for instrumentalists and vocalists seeking to develop their jazz playing skill and experience with a first-class team of tutors. The course is open to people from a wide range of backgrounds and experience - from beginner to advanced - and offers the opportunity to learn and explore new and varied techniques as well as discovering new repertoire.

The five day course offers a comprehensive range of learning and playing opportunities, from instrumental tuition through to small and large ensemble group sessions covering: rhythm, harmony, improvisation, comping, soloing, rehearsal, performance, and the vital ingredients of confidence and fun!

The course is equipped to host members with wide range of interests, backgrounds, and needs including; residential or course only; easy access; mixed age from 14 years old, with full time pastoral care provision for under 18’s; fantastically well-equipped purpose built practice, rehearsal and performance music studios; special evening sessions at a nearby local venue; all set with a spacious green campus, and just round the corner from the beautiful south-west Cornwall coast.

Accommodation

Rooms on campus are comfortable double rooms with ensuite bathrooms (with towels) and shared Kitchen / dining Spaces.

The course is run on a self-catering basis, but In the course building The AMATA Cafe has hot food & salads for lunch, and all day tea, coffee, drinks, and lots of cake.           

Hot food is also available a la carte at the campus refectory and several other onsite cafe's, and A campus shop. In nearby Penryn (15 min walk) are various eateries and a 24hr Asda.

Road: the A3o / M5 is the main route in and out of Cornwall;  into Cornwall
